From the outset, Moreno Baldivieso changed the traditional paradigms that shaped the practice of law at the local level, moving to the forefront to position himself as the leader of the legal market in Bolivia. The prominence of his professional practice is led by a team of multilingual lawyers, educated at renowned national and international universities in the United States and Europe.

With 54 lawyers, a similar number of administrative support staff and 4 offices on the backbone of the country, Moreno Baldivieso is one of the largest law firms in Bolivia and the most recognized internationally, having been awarded “Bolivian Firm of the Year” by the prestigious English directory Chambers and Partners 9 times in the last 12 years.

Today we have consolidated ourselves as a modern institution, in constant process of evolution, product of the synergy of experience and youth that allows us to innovate and solve with solvency the needs of our clients, preserving the excellence and quality of our services.

Our firm

Our firm was founded in 1931 under the name Gabriel Patent & Trademark Office, as a specialized intellectual property office.

A great leadership that led to growth

Under the leadership of our current principal partner Ramiro Moreno Baldivieso, Gabriel Patent & Trademark Office becomes Estudio Moreno Baldivieso Abogados. A law firm of 7 lawyers specialized in different areas, offering comprehensive legal services in all branches of law, with a main emphasis on business law.

We expanded the practice to the whole country

Moreno Baldivieso opens offices in the main cities of the country’s main axis, including La Paz, Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and Tarija.

New offices with a new identity

Due to the growth and expansion of its lawyers, Moreno Baldivieso acquires a new office in La Paz – Bolivia, in a house with English architectural influence that represents until today an emblem in the center of the political capital of Bolivia.

From Family Law Firm to Corporate Law Firm

After an institutional growth that took Moreno Baldivieso to places of privilege and leadership in the Bolivian legal market, the firm completes a 5-year process of generational transition with the advice of English consultants. At the end of the year, the firm adopts its current name “Moreno Baldivieso” names the first 6 non-family partners, who join the 3 partners of the Moreno Baldivieso family.

Constant growth that leads to new changes

The constant growth of Moreno Baldivieso, makes the firm reach a total of 48 lawyers and a similar number of administrative staff who support the activities of the firm in their day to day. In this context, the firm decides to move its main office in the city of La Paz, to the new financial and business center of this city located in the south of the government headquarters.

Innovation in Legal Services

In response to the needs of the market, Moreno Baldivieso expands its line of business and creates several departments complementary to the legal practice of the firm: i) the department of accounting and labor outsourcing to offer our clients a comprehensive management of their businesses, ii) the department specializing in startups, iv) the regulatory department of records in the areas of medicine and cosmetology and v) the department of new technologies.
