Gabriel Ortega is an associate at Moreno Baldivieso. His practice focuses on arbitration and the mining, energy and hydrocarbons sectors. Gabriel has experience acting in ICC proceedings involving construction, oil and gas, and M&A disputes. He also has particular experience advising oil and gas companies on upstream and midstream matters and lithium companies on structuring foreign direct investments in Bolivia.
Before joining Moreno Baldivieso, Gabriel worked with Freshfields’ dispute resolution team in Dubai, as a junior lawyer at TotalEnergies EP Bolivie, and at Dentons in Bolivia.
Beyond his practice, Gabriel contributes actively to the arbitration community. He serves as Assistant Editor for Latin America at Daily Jus and has published on investor-State arbitration in the American Review of International Arbitration at Columbia Law School and the Kluwer Arbitration Blog.
